Welcome to secure text services through LifeMatters.
The secure text service is for individuals who are at least 18 years old. It is not appropriate for anyone with suicidal or homicidal intent or severe psychiatric or substance abuse problems. If this is an emergency and you need immediate help, please call 9-1-1.
You do not need an appointment for texting services. In some instances, there may be a delay between your initial text and a response from the LifeMatters counselor. If you would prefer to have immediate contact with LifeMatters, please call us. Counselors are available 24/7/365.
Like all LifeMatters services, the secure text service is voluntary, free, and confidential within the limits of the law. No information regarding your use of LifeMatters will be shared with anyone, including your employer, without your consent, unless there is a threat of harm to yourself or others. LifeMatters counselors are legally obligated to report suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult to a designated social service agency and to act to prevent imminent threats of suicide, homicide, or grave harm. For individuals processed for a government security clearance, the Department of Investigative Services (DIS) requires LifeMatters to disclose unsafe behaviors that may violate DIS regulations.
Please ensure that you are in a location with reliable cellular or wi-fi service prior to your secure text conversation. LifeMatters counselors are not able to provide technical or help-desk support.
